Bill Assign
The Bill Assign module is used by Leadership to assign a new
bill to a committee and to set the date of introduction. A bill being passed from the other chamber
can also be assigned to a committee.
Bill status can automatically be created for a bill when it has been
entered into the Bill Assign module. In
addition, a Journal stamp can be formatted to quickly record into the daily
Journal the introduction and committee referral of all the bills to be introduced
or read a first time on a specific day.
The Journal stamp can optionally be linked to bill status to record the
bill introduction in lieu of having Bill Assign create the status. Within this module, there is sufficient
flexibility to satisfy Legislature requirements to automate the recording to
the Journal, to bill status, or to both while giving Leadership an efficient
method for the initial assignment of committees and dates of introduction.
